Happy New Year!
As an organization comprised of family members and mental health professionals representing 19 counties in Western New York, and as a chapter of the statewide organization, Families Together in NYS, the Children’s Mental Health Coalition of Western New York, Inc. is a part of a large and influential network of caring families working toward providing support, collective action, partnership, and strength in achieving the care necessary for our children and families. We work together to establish a unified voice for families and children with behavioral, emotional and social differences. We are committed to ensuring that all children and families have access to necessary information, supports, and services by strengthening family support, promoting awareness of children’s mental health issues and fostering equal partnerships between parents/caretakers and children’s service providers of all types.
Our organization is dedicated to strengthening families through peer support. We rely on our members who share in a unified vision of a strong, cohesive and valued coalition, to bring the voices and needs of the families they serve to our monthly meetings. It is only through this representation that we will be able to provide the best assistance and understand most fully the needs of our children and families.
As an organization dedicated to strengthening family support, it is essential that each individual member recognize and respect the struggle and accomplishments of fellow members. To bring strength to our families we must strengthen and support ourselves.
With this New Year, comes a new beginning. Your attendance at the monthly coalition meetings is essential. If you have any questions or if there are circumstances that prevent you from attending and you would like to join us, please call us at 716-871-8997 and we may brainstorm a solution.
Starting today, together, we create a promising future for each family. Please join us in support for all those families seeking strength, support, and understanding in their time of need. Our first meeting of 2008 will be held on January 22nd at the Livingston County Government Center, 6 Court Street, Geneseo NY 14454. All meetings will be held in room 205, unless otherwise noted.
